Sisterworks

Sisterworks is the Dutch Expertise Centre on Human Trafficking in relation to Religion, Migration, Justice, Sheltering and Prostitution. Topics that require tailor made information and policy advise.
Sisterworks wants to stand strong for the voiceless and often faceless exploited women, men and children in the Netherlands, in Europe and worldwide who are being exploited and trafficked.

Sisterworks has been founded on the inspiration and the work done by religious in the Netherlands who have been engaged in working with people in the margins of society.

Special focus is on women, men and children who suffer in a situation of human trafficking, forced labour, exploitation, forced prostitution and (forced) migration.

Human Trafficking

The organisation Sisterworks has its roots in the expertise built in many years of working in the Netherlands and abroad. Since the early nineties, there has been intensive cooperation with congregations, with churches, contacts with governments, missionary and development organisations and especially with those most affected, the victims.

Catholic Social Teaching

Inspired by the words and actions of St. Vincent DePaul and Pope Francis, both obviously based on the scripture and the social teachings of the Catholic church, Sisterworks wants to stand strong for the voiceless and often faceless exploited women, men and children in the Netherlands, in Europe and worldwide.

Religious Network

The input and actions of a religious network is now as much as any time imperative. In this present time, where we see so many people on the move, fleeing wars, environmental hazards or sheer poverty, people are trying to find a better future, the voice of the religious has to be heard, this voice for justice and mercy cannot be lacking in this debate.
